The series of floods and landslides that swept through multiple areas on the island of Sumatra continues to claim lives. According to the latest report, the number of confirmed deaths has risen to 631 people.

The updated information was published on the official website of the Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center (Pusdatin BNPB) on Tuesday (December 2, 2025) at 10:01 AM local time under the Disaster Impact Recapitulation section.

Latest Victim Statistics

  • Deaths: 631 people

  • Missing persons: 472 people

  • Injured: 2,600 people

  • Affected population: 3.2 million people

  • Displaced residents: 1 million people

Beyond the rising casualty numbers, the disaster has also impacted at least 50 districts. The destruction extends beyond human safety, damaging thousands of homes and numerous public facilities.

Infrastructure Damage Report

  • Severely damaged houses: 3,500 units

  • Moderately damaged houses: 2,000 units

  • Lightly damaged houses: 3,500 units

  • Damaged educational facilities: 322 units

  • Damaged bridges: 277 units



BNPB continues to update the situation as search operations, evacuations, and logistical support efforts progress across the affected regions.
